The mission of Red Clay Ministries is to meet the spiritual, physical, and emotional needs of the correctional community (Prisoners, families of prisoners, and the Correctional Staff in Prisons and Jails), by sharing the Light of Jesus Christ to all.
In 2002, the Ladies' Ministry of Oak Hill Baptist Church, Williamson, GA, began serving in a local prison for women. The ministry grew to encompass other prisons and jails and many volunteers. In 2017, the church prison ministry became Red Clay Ministries, Inc. in order to grow all ministries to the Correctional Community, attract more volunteers, and to work with other churches to serve inmates, their families, and correctional staff in Middle Georgia.
Today, Red Clay Ministries has over 50 volunteers. Twenty-six of the Red Clay Volunteers are certified by the Georgia Department of Corrections to go "inside" the state prisons to serve. Red Clay Ministries has expanded to serve prisoners, correctional staff and the families of inmates. The ministries of Red Clay serve the Correctional Community.

Volunteers of Red Clay Ministries teach in the Red Clay Ministries' New Life Academy. The academy is an intensive, biblically based program that takes incarcerated men and women through a holistic life transformation process. Participants are guided by Red Clay volunteers to lead lives of purpose and productivity while incarcerated, and to continue that life upon release.
The New Life Academy is a nine-month program with a graduation at the conclusion of the program. Courses include Resolving Conflicts, What is Christianity, What is a godly man or godly woman, Finances according to the Bible, and learning to identify areas needing to change in their lives and moving forward to change.
The next academy will begin at Al Burruss Correctional Facility in August 2022.
Red Clay Ministries is looking for churches, who want to answer the call to prison ministry by volunteering to assist in the academy program. If you or your church are interested, please click on the "To Receive More Information" button below.
